Beauty update: March 2015

One of the requests I got with the redesign/relaunch was to do an updated beauty routine. As a tiny disclaimer, I really don't know much about makeup so I am by no means an expert. A lot of these products are ones I have been using for years but there are a few new things I really like as well. Here goes!

1. Lip products: I am a loyal fan of orange-toned products and unless I'm only wearing lip balm (see below), I'm using one of the above. The YSL Babydoll Kiss/Blush is really pigmented but i use very little and blend it out for something more matte. The Loreal lipstick is shiner and sheer but is more moisturising. I don't even know the brand of the last one but it is from Sasa and is a pink/orange tone- I usually dab it on instead of applying it like a normal lip colour for a subtle touch. I keep this mirror from Cool Enough Studios in my bag always, just in case.

2. Eyes, brows, and base: I think I've used the Maybelline Falsies 24h Waterpoof Mascara since it was introduced- I have to use a waterproof formula otherwise it doesn't hold a curl since I have really straight lashes- I curl them with the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and if I use mascara, I use it on both the top and bottom lashes. If I'm feeling fancy I tight line my eyes with the Shu Uemura Pencil Liner. For Brows I use the Shu Uemura Hard 9 Eyebrow Pencil (I think its the darkest shade) and sometimes the By Terry Brow Gel if I'm bothered. On my face, I always wear sunscreen (This one is Shiseido) and if i need it I use a Nars Tinted Moisturizer. If I'm not using the tinted moisturiser, I'll just use the sunscreen as a base with 3 Concept Eyes Concealer and if I look tired I'll use a Bare Minerals 'Stroke of Light' Concealer/Highlighter but I usually skip this step.

3. Skin and body: I use this Bio Beauté by Nuxe lip balm I picked up in Paris and it is the best. For my body i use this body oil from L:A Bruket from a gift bag, and lotion from & Other Stories, both smell really nice. On my face, I use the Aesop Hydrating Serum as a moisturiser, Le Roche Posay Effaclar when I'm breaking out and the Aesop Parsley Seed Mask at least once a week. I've been using this Dermalogica Cleanser for ages now and it just doesn't seem to run out, plus its very gentle.

Removal: If I'm not at home, I use these Bioderma Wipes to clean my face (I usually use a cleanser afterwards as well). At home I use Coconut Oil from Whole Foods which i cannot recommend enough.

Aaaaand...that's about it! If you have any recommendations or beauty tips in general comment below.

  8. Ooooh I haven't heard that you can remove makeup with coconut oil, sounds great ! I'm going to give it a try! I just wonder how do you remove the oil, do you rinse with water or just wipe it off?

  9. Your photos are beautiful, especially with the emojis (who doesn't love emojis). I use coconut oil to remove my makeup as well - I love how it makes my skin feel nourished and healthy. I even use it on lazy days to wash my face in the morning especially if it is feeling dry or dehydrated. Lovely post xx
